Depart from Budapest and embark on a journey of cities, culture and river cruises along the Danube River.

  • From Toronto to Budapest via Amsterdam, we begin exploring the city through its streets, Hungarian food, and the Danube by night—a prelude to our romantic river cruise.

  • From old treasures and Herend porcelain at a suburban flea market to the Great Market Hall and the city’s ruin bars, a day among commerce, food, and youth culture reveals Budapest’s vibrant, complex character.

  • A visit to the “world’s most beautiful café,” the Hungarian Parliament, and a McDonald’s in a historic railway station, followed by boarding our Viking river cruise. Budapest’s nightscape and unexpected street encounters proved more beautiful than anything on a preconceived list.

  • After leaving the ship early in the morning for one last look at Budapest, we make a whirlwind visit to the Buda Castle District before sailing on toward Visegrád and Vienna. A sunset in motion leaves our unfinished wishes—and plenty of reasons to return—in its wake.
